What is hyperinflation?

Hyperinflation is an extremely high and typically accelerating rate of inflation, often exceeding 50% per month.

During hyperinflation, prices of goods and services rise so rapidly that money loses much of its value.

This can lead to severe economic problems, as people’s savings become worthless and normal economic activities are disrupted.

Historical examples include Germany in the 1920s and Zimbabwe in the 2000s.
